You Won’t Be-π-lieve These Facts About Pi

Pi day happened last month and it is celebrated annually on every March 14th. To those familiar with Pi day, I don't need to explain why it's March 14th but to those unfamiliar, it's time for some math lessons guys.

Don't worry I'm not going to make it boring, I never do right?

Do you remember the famous number with this symbol; π

If you hated math you probably weren't a fun of that symbol. Let me make it more interesting for you now.

When you take a circle, it has a circumference and a diameter. The ratio of the circumference to the diameter of the circle regardless of its size always ends up being equal to a particular figure which we call Pi. The approximate number is 3.14.

Because of how cool this number is, the world has set a whole day for it, which is Pi day. Now you know that March is the number 3 month of the year so Pi day is March 14th to represent 3.14.

What makes this number so cool that I had to write a blog for it?

For starters, it is infinite so that alone makes it GOATED. Literally no one has been able to calculate the full figure of Pi. We only say 3.14 but after the .14, there's just an infinite flow of random numbers with no end.

Ok I'm tired and so are you... It goes on and on forever and you obviously didn't read the whole number, you skipped it didn't you, lol.

Did you know that mathematicians have been able to calculate Pi using advanced computation all the way to 100 trillion digits, and the decimals didn't end?

NASA the space institution only uses fifteen of the infinite digits for its calculations and that's a good thing because if they had no choice than to use all of it, we wouldn't be having space flight today.

I think anybody that attempts to figure out more digits of Pi is just trying to flex with their smartness because it's a job with no end.

After doing a few research on Pi, I am more fascinated about that figure than ever before.

I already said it's infinite but it also has no pattern that the mathematicians have discovered yet. They can't find a number series pattern. It's just random figures that don't repeat in sequence.

I'm thinking to myself that maybe, just maybe there could actually be a pattern but we have not calculated enough digits of Pi to start checking a pattern. I may be wrong though and perhaps after getting more hundreds of trillions of digits, we might discover there's truly no pattern no matter how far you go.

I also learned that one time, a guy named Rajveer Meena, memorized over 70,000 digits of Pi. They said he used a memory technique but whatever technique he used, I know I'm not going to attempt, I've got way too much to do in the day lol.

They said it took the guy ten hours to get all 70,000 digits. I’m not even mad at that, I’m just confused by what people decide to care about. I love Pi, but nah.

Another interesting fact about Pi is that the day we celebrate Pi day is also the birthday of the one and only Albert Einstein, March 14 1879. Pi day should be Christmas for anyone that loves Math or Physics.

Here's another interesting thing about Pi. I like watching movies and apparently there's a creepy thriller movie called Pi made in the year 1998.

I'll share a YouTube video of it and you be the judge of how cool or weird the movie is. An interesting thing about the movie is that it was made the same year I was born so at least I have something in common with Pi, lol.

There's just so many more amazing things connected to Pi and perhaps I could go on and on about it as long as the decimals go on and on but that won't be possible for one blog page.

I'm looking forward to celebrating next year's Pi day in a more dramatic way than this year. I'll confess I barely paid attention to Pi day till this year. Maybe it's the beginning of my journey to being an awesome nerd and hopefully tech billionaire haha.
