Is My Country Safe

Nigeria would have been a safe haven if the leaders or those in power really care about the country/citizens and not just their pocket, I think crime rate will be minimal if everyone have one or two things doing that is actually generating income for them, but someone it is the other way and the more the hardship, the more increase in crime rate, gone were those days when the only crime we do hear was just robbery and it wasn't that rampant, traveling by road was way easier and there wasn't any reason for fear, police were doing their job right from time to time but all of a sudden things change when the corruption rate stated increasing.

At first it was the Boko Haram scenario, I think that was the major kidnapping case i heard of, it instill fear in lot of people especially in the northern part of Nigeria, they kidnap lot of young school girls, and started demanding for ransom without even releasing them, bomb blast starting turning to normal things then kidnapping became rampant especially when things start getting hard and people find it hard to really feed. People were really scared, I remember during my Nysc moment, I was posted to the north and that was my first time going that far from my family, they were scared and talking asking me to redeploy when i get there, I couldn't travel along so I had to go with fellow corpers in group, we were kind of scared but also amazed we didn't see any kidnappers on the way, and the state was also far from what people think it was, as long as you don't visit the dangerous zone.

Well at some point Nigeria is safe if you decided to maintain you lane and not walk in odd hours especially at night, to me Lagos is safe, no one really care who you are nor keeping tabs on you, just stay indoor especially if you are an introvert or go out to have fun and make sure if you sense danger call 911 or ask for help or best still always make sure someone know where you are at a point in time.
