Telemedicine Shaping The Health World

Do you believe telemedicine can fully replace in-person visits? What are the benefits, challenges, and future potential of telemedicine in shaping modern healthcare. Is this the future?

At some point, I was amazed with how the world have changed when it come to technology based and the impact in medicine and health, gone where those days when people had to deal with traditional medicine with average solutions to some certain health issues and with time modern hospitals came in but at some point, not everyone have access to hospital especially when it come to the rural areas. Somehow not everyone really love visiting hospitals and I am one of those people, I could remember when I was young, I do run away anytime they mention hospital and I do try my best not to fall sick, even when I'm sick, I prefer visiting the pharmacy instead or just eat good food and allow the body system to do justice to the sickness. Access to a doctor or nurses whenever you need them at the comfort of your home seem like a major problem, I could remember on midnight my mom woke me up, she was like my brother had stomach pain and all and we had to rush him to the nearest hospital that might only to figure out he had ulcer attack and they just ask him to lie down till morning and they prescribe drugs for him but the bills we receive was way too much and everything was within 6-7hours.

The day I knew about telemedicine was the day I said bye bye to hospital if the symptoms aren't that severe or if it is just to seek consultation. I was surfing the net one day when I just saw health app Northcare advertise and I just downloaded but had no hope of using it until the day I got sick, I thought it was normal malaria and I just the malaria drug that I had but it didn't work, I can't go to the hospital because of bills, I just remembered I had a health app so I opened it and registered, I was so lucky that day, they were doing free consultation, I stated what I thought was wrong, wrote down the symptoms and how I'm feeling and the app gave me some health suggestion of similar cases then asked if I want to connect to a doctor which I did, and within some minutes, a doctor attended to me, it was so fast because I knew if I was in an hospital, I still have to pass through some process or wait in line before I can even see a doctor or get attended to

After few discussion, I got some prescription and what make it interesting was the suggestion they gave in helping me get the drugs by connecting to any available pharmacy around me and it will be delivered. Telemedicine is actually a good one and quicker if cases isn't severe, it is accessible with fast access to care. Another reason is the cost, it is really affordable or should I just say cost effective, the last time I use it, I paid just 3k for the consultation, got drugs prescription and was even referred to a nearby pharmacy, I just went there to pick the drugs and pay and access is 24/7, they always have doctors on standby
