Why Will You Lie | Throw The First Punch

I got to remember when I had one terrible fist fight back then in secondary school, all because of what, I was in Junior Seconday School (Jss2) then and my dad got me a mathematical set to use in school, back then mathematical set were like gold since not everyone have it so when I get stuff like that I do every possible way to write my names on it in full incase someone stole it but wasn't expecting such to happen, who will dare steal a whole class rep mathematical set. I do bring it to school all the time since all my books were in a bad and I carry all to and fro daily, so this particular day, I try to use it in class and couldn't find it, I was kind of confused because I didn't take it out from my school bags, I searched well yet didn't see it, then somehow I thought I forgot it at home and after returning home, I looked everywhere but couldn't find it.

Reality drawn on me somehow, maybe I lost it which wasn't possible or someone stole it, I wasn't sure but what can I do. So a week later, one of my class mate sitting at my back started bring mathematical set to school which never happen before, I do look at him with one sided eye because this stuff wasn't looking new and the timeframe seem odd so I started suspecting him, anytime he brought it out, I will try to see if my name was on it but he won't let me touch it, I can't just accused him all of a sudden in class because what if it isn't mine, the disgrace and disappointment will feel somehow but somehow I took my mind off it.

One faithful day after school hours, he was holding it on our way home and it dropped from his hand and I happened to pick it up for him while also checking it out and somehow I sighted my inscription on it with O.O and that is different from his own name, I don't know where the courage came from and I question him, he felt shocked but as a guy, he couldn't reply so I checked well, apparently, he try his best in fading my inscribed name and wrote his name on it. I wasn't angry at first until he started lying about it and somehow drawing other student attention, and that fuel my anger and before I could put myself in order I throw a punch at him because why will you lie when you know you actually stole the mathematical set.

Accept you stole it was the next thing that came out of my mouth but this guy was already bleeding from a corner of his mouth and my hand also, I punched his teeth 🦷, after few dragging, he said the truth and everyone started laughing, I collected my stuff back even though the stuff in the set wasn't complete anymore, I felt bad punching him though but he should have come clean instead of denying at first.
