Сполох від спалаху \ Confusion from the flash in the sky

Сиджу собі вечором за комп'ютером, читаю всяке корисне, конспектую найважливіше. Переді мною - вікно, напрямок - на Київ. На вулиці ніч. Хмарно.
Схід України. Тут почалася повітряна тривога. Сили ППО вже почали збивати ворожі дрони десь на Дніпропетровщині. Тривожно.
І тут боковим зором помічаю спалах у небі. Велике вогняне коло. Наче від короткого замикання. Причому - без звуків вибуху, як буває при ракетно-дронових атаках росії. І - миттєво.
Я не повірила своїм очам. Думаю, засиділась за монітором, от і ввижається всяке. Підняла голову на люстру, щоб перевірити, чи то не відображення перегорання електролампочки я бачила у вікні. - Ні, всі лампи горять. І тут таке: спочатку в Києві, а потім і в області оголошено повітряну тривогу. І вже з'явилися повідомлення про яскравий спалах десь над Києвом. Навіть відео почали публікувати.

I sit at the computer in the evening, read everything useful, take notes of the most important things. In front of me is a window, the direction is to Kyiv. It's night outside. Cloudy.
East of Ukraine. Here began the air alarm. Air defense forces have already started shooting down enemy drones somewhere in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Anxiously.
And then I noticed a flash in the sky with side vision. A large circle of fire. As if from a short circuit. And - without the sounds of an explosion, as happens with missile and drone attacks of russia. And - instantly.
I couldn't believe my eyes. I probably sat for a long time at the monitor, but my eyes got tired. I raised my head to the chandelier to check if it was not the reflection of a burning light bulb I saw in the window. - No, all the lamps are on. And here it is: first in Kyiv, and then in the region, an air alert was announced. And there have already been reports of a bright flash somewhere over Kyiv. Even videos started to be published.

Дивлюся - точно, саме таку яскраву кулю я і бачила у вікні! От вічно сумніваюся у правдивості того, що бачуть мої очі. А вони ж не брешуть! 😊
Далі - цікавіше: попередньо це сяйво нібито викликане падінням супутнику НАСА, про сходження з орбіти якого десь на днях писали представники цієї космічної організації. І, начебто, повітряну тривогу було оголошено для безпеки населення, бо уламки супутника могли впасти нам на голову. Ну що ж: добре що не балістична ракета від 'братів' росіян! Можна спати спокійно, тим більше що тривогу вже скасували.
Вранці все одно переглядаю новини. А тут вже і супутник НАСА скасували: виявляється, що той ще не входив в земну атмосферу. 🙃 Так що ж це було?
Нарешті, космічні агенції згадали про те, що ми знаходимось якраз в епіцентрі метеоритних дощів. > "Найбільш ймовірно спалах було спричинено падінням метеориту з потоку Лірид", - повідомили у космічному агентстві України.
"Найбільш ймовірно — це космічний об’єкт, небесне тіло, яке до входу в атмосферу Землі називається астероїдом, коли входить в атмосферу Землі, називається метеорит, а коли горить яскравою кулею, то називають болід. Тобто ми маємо справу саме з таким небесним тілом", — сказав експерт. Джерело

I look - for sure, I saw such a bright ball in the window! I always doubt the truth of what my eyes see. And they don't lie! 😊
Further - it is more interesting: previously this glow was allegedly caused by the fall of a NASA satellite, about the descent from orbit of which somewhere the other day representatives of this space organization wrote. And, apparently, an air alert was announced for the safety of the population, because the fragments of the satellite could fall on our heads. Well, it's good that it's not a ballistic missile from the "brothers" of the Russians! You can sleep peacefully, especially since the air alarm has already been canceled.
I watch the news in the morning. Wow - the fall of the NASA satellite has not been officially confirmed: it turns out that it has not yet entered the Earth's atmosphere. 🙃 So what was it?
Finally, the space agencies mentioned that we are right in the epicenter of the meteor showers. "Most likely, the outbreak was caused by the fall of a meteorite from the Lyrid stream," the space agency of Ukraine reported.
"Most likely, this is a space object, a celestial body, which before entering the Earth's atmosphere is called an asteroid, when it enters the Earth's atmosphere, it is called a meteorite, and when it burns like a bright ball, it is called a bolide. Тепер все зрозуміло. Але цікавою є реакція різних людей на спалах: для одних це джерело гумору і мемів у соцмережах, для інших - кара господня за вигнання руських попів із Лаври. Так-так, я від сусідки і таку думку вислухала. 😵

Добре те, що добре закінчується. Сполох був невиправданим. Війна - найстрашніший спалах на нашій планеті. І поки створюються свіжі меми про спалах метеориту, наші славні ЗСУ нищать ворожі дрони. Переможемо! ✌️

Now everything is clear. But the reaction of different people to the outbreak is interesting: for some it is a source of humor and memes in social networks, for others it is God's punishment for the expulsion of russian priests from the Lavra. Yes, yes, I heard this opinion from my neighbor. 😵

All's well that ends well. The alarm was unwarranted. War is the most terrible outbreak on our planet. And while fresh memes are being created about a meteorite explosion, our glorious Armed Forces are destroying enemy drones. Victory will be ours! ✌️
