95% of all Bitcoin already mined, next halving in about 2 years already

Was sagt ihr dazu?

Bitcoin's mined supply crosses 95% of 21 million cap with more than a century of issuance left

English

19,950,400 out of 21,000,000, or 95% of all Bitcoin ever to exist, have already been mined, which means that only 5% of Bitcoin remain to be mined over the next 100+ years until the maximum number of 21 million is reached.

The last Bitcoin, Satoshis, will be mined around the year 2140, give or take. It is not possible to predict the exact date exactly, as it depends on fluctuations in hash power.

Exactly every 210,000 blocks, the block reward is halved, which corresponds to approximately a 4-year cycle. The next halving is predicted for April 2028, so it is only a good 2 years away.

Due to the logarithmic nature of block rewards, inflation will slow down dramatically again in the coming years. Two more halvings and Bitcoin inflation will become completely irrelevant, as we will have mined approximately 99% of Bitcoin by then. Logarithmic trend. The remaining percent will then take about 108 years, with mining for one Bitcoin slowing down more and more.

As Polymarket predicted, Bitcoin has now actually crashed below 90K. I'm curious to see how it will continue. But I'm not worried about Bitcoin.

When in doubt, zoom out.

What do you think? How do long do you think the bear market will continue?

The time for the Bitcoin halving to end and the new Bitcoin halving to begin is very close, but due to the current fluctuating price of the time, interest is being lost.

So much Bitcoin has already been mined that the supply will now increase very slowly. The 2028 halving is also important. Now we have to see which direction the market goes over time.

I love the deflationary nature of BTC, though I think for now BTC will continue going downwards. It might actually go to <75k. We can only hope that the bulls take control anytime in the near future.

2140 is absolutely very far from now. Future people might be on the moon by that time

Still a long way for halving, until it who knows, bear and bull don't exist anymore when politicians can influence crypto

It is getting more challenging to mine Bitcoin as it is nearing 100%

I have no idea how long the bear market will continue, but I just don't see us going up in the short term. It's crazy to see that 95% is already mined. It makes me wonder what will happen as that gets closer and closer to 100%.

It occurred to me that mining cryptocurrencies is like collecting stamps. Sometimes it is more popular, sometimes less popular. Used stamps are functionally useless. They are useless. They are just collector's items. However, sometimes there is literally a buying frenzy, and sometimes prices fall. It depends on the global economic situation.
I think it will be the same with cryptocurrencies. They will fall and rise. One way and then the other. But they will never disappear. They are driven by human desire for wealth, passion, and belief.
