My Actifit Report Card: April 9 2025| Seeking peace amidst the turbulence

Greetings Hivers and fellow Actifit champions! It's me again Iris, from East Java Indonesia. It's been a few days but it feels like a long time since I am stopping down. I caught a cold and was taking rest at home today. But yesterday so many things happened so I just wanted to share it with you.

We just got back to our usual working hours on Monday and the US Tariff policy made everyone unsettled. However, the show must go on and I went to work as usual though all our shipments to the US has been put on hold.

I visited another factory at Pandaan yesterday which has the least order so I didn't come here very often. This factory used to be one of the biggest furniture factories in East Java with a very vast production area. But unfortunately it was declining right now and the security was really tight unlike the other factories which are much busier. I was stranded in the front gate for quite a long time before gained access to come.

The production was very slow though the workers still did our products. We were hoping to catch some important shipping date after the long holiday, but due to the circumstances our plans and schedules were chaotic. So I used this chance to make a warehouse visit to check our stock and counted them to match our data.

Luckily the warehouse was clean and organized. However we did have some missing items, so we re-counted several times and tried to find the missing pieces. However since the area is pretty big, by the time I was done, it was afternoon already.

On the way back, the sky was so beautiful so I deliberately looked for a nice spot to rest, walk, and gather my restless mind. Because my contract is basically like a freelance worker with full-time working hours but no contract whatsoever, I can be cut from this position anytime. However, the eerie sunset did cheer me up and the long walk gradually calmed my restless mind. I was just wandering following a nice little stream that passed through some vast paddy fields. I didn't bring a vehicle yesterday, so my friend just left me at the coffee hut near the stream so I can wander freely.

Since everything is beyond my control, there was nothing I can do except try to do my tasks well and pray for the best. So grateful for the beauty of nature that gently embraces me and heals my souls whenever I need it.

The sunset was over by the time I went back to the hut. I called a local 'ojek' or motorbike taxi to take me to the nearest bus stop. But just my luck to add that weird day, the bus was so full of passengers due to the long holiday. I had to stand for about 30 minutes until I secured a seat. Not something unusual but still I hate being in a crowded place for too long, so by the time I arrived home I was drained and successfully caught a cold at night.
