In 2024 Comicsgate only had 62% of the backer numbers displayed in 2023. 2025 appears to be off to a sluggish start through the first month, with CG tracker only listed two books with a total of 492 backers. The drop off in backers corresponds to the same period where Van Sciver devoted his "TrashCast" YouTube program to content focused on derogatory criticism of competitor Eric July, and his Rippaverse Comic Books. Ironically the two major releases from the Rippaverse, "The Great War of Separation" and "Yaira #2" have totaled 13,170 books sold, almost exactly the total of Comicsgate's top ten projects in 2024.
