Ahonex.com: The New Auction House for Splinterlands Assets

Auction House Online Exchange (Ahonex) has recently launched as the first auction platform for Splinterlands assets. The platform caters to collectors of Splinterlands assets such as cards, lands and others. More than simple buy and sell transaction, it offers better features for buying and selling super rare assets.

List Item – Sellers can set starting price, reserve price, “buy now” price, auction duration (1 hr–7 days).

Pros and Cons

Pros
The auction feature has been frequently requested and now finally realized. It's another method to find great deals on cards that have value to collectors like Prince Julian, Archmage Arius or even the newer Black Foil and Arcane versions of cards. Auctions are not only limited to cards but also lands, consumables and other Splinterlands assets. It's user-friendly and I find it easy to browse for cards and list assets. It's also easy to filter price info and tools for auction make it easy to join.

Cons
The platform is in its birth pains so there are some initial bugs. However, the team responded quickly to fix the bugs. There are also calls to lower the listing fee of 250 DEC plus a 5% final fee.

Ahonex adds another option to trade Splinterlands assets. However, for the platform to be successful, it needs consistent traffic and liquidity. Sellers may still prefer the in game market until Ahonex becomes more popular. Currently, the platform is still niche. The team will need to continually update and improve the site. It also needs design tweaks, I think the current design could use some improvement. Advertisement to web2 platforms like X and youtube will be needed in making the site popular and encourage mass adoption.
