Friday Morning Review of Gold and Silver

The uptrend in gold remains intact with a series of Higher Highs and Higher Lows. For the past several weeks gold has been consolidating its recent gains.

Silver is also consolidating its recent gains and the uptrend remains intact.

The gold mining stocks, well . . . . . hmmmmmm?

The trend is up but, hopefully this is just a consolidation which would be completely normal, however that recent drop in the HUI was a rather deep cut. The range for consolidation appears to be between 210 and 240.

Above 240 and we should get another leg to the upside. Below 210, then real caution needs to be applied.

The premium on American Silver Eagles does appear to be dropping just a bit. Perhaps the demand has subsided because the supply has not grown as the US Mint shut down for pretty much the entire month of December.

This time of year the markets get real thin and volume drops off. I doubt there will be a whole lot of "excitement" with some more sideways action into the New Year.

Personally, I still prefer the silver market as it appears to be the strongest at this point.

Good to see that silver's uptrend remains intact and that the market is at its strongest point. It seems that more people are stacking on silver.
