The Daily Meme #821!
IF you haven't already noticed, the price is pretty low.
For those of you creating content, you might want to consider powering up 100% until the price starts to recover a little.
By taking the 50/50 split you are effectively selling hive at these prices.
It's not much, but if you want to maximize your return, this is what the doctor ordered.

Billy Jack, the movie.
The Trial of Billy Jack.
Billy Jack goes to Washington.

I would buy
Unless it goes even lower 🤔
We are approaching the price where the power attached to the purchase will make sense.
I think that is somewhere south of a dime.
Yeah under 0,10 it will make sense
I keep the 50/50 split but I'll turn around and sell the HBD when prices are this low.
It can work out that way, too.
As long as the price trends down, but timing the bottom is easier said than done.
I've been doing that for a very long time.

I don't see how. Only selling Hive is selling Hive?
No, the rshares are first converted to hive and then issued as that dollar amount in hbd, so 50/50 is effectively selling hive at this price.
You could have had hp, but you chose to convert 50% to hbd.
A sure fire way of losing money were the price to again rise.
Presuming the price will again rise, anybody in hbd at these prices is missing a huge sale.
So, in the same sense that choosing to be paid in fiat, or bullion, is choosing to not be paid in Hive, it is effectively selling Hive.
Yes.
Or, you could get paid in the best hive of all, good friends.
I prefer goodwill over any encomium, and today only have any personal possessions because I have worked for that over any other value. It is because of my preference for integrity I follow whom I do, and without integrity there is nothing good.
Present company exemplary.
Thank you very much for the information/suggestion.🙏
I'll try to stop messing around and disable 50/50 in the settings.
As One who is here to share awareness that We do not need to account for Our energy added into a system (use "money" in any form), I keep hoping the crypto and all will become more like score cards and have no point. LOL!
Spending My time trying to figure out how to move bits around is likely not something I will bother with. If I had millions, it might make sense, maybe... But with, I dunno, haven't looked lately, maybe $300ish? I have better things to do with My time.
I’ve seen a bunch of people doing that.. I’ll have to do it for a period as well! I like to have the HBD handy for selling it if it goes lower but it’s pretty low right now so doing 100% HP is a good change of pace.
The only thing I can hope is that post scheduling with that payout works. I’ve had some snafu’s with alternative choices that have caused some headaches.
It does work for me, but I use templates, mostly.
Yeah, as do I and I schedule them. I'll have to modify my template and give it a try!
I asked Grok AI and it said that HBD rewards don't involve selling HIVE and don't have sell pressure. What do you think of this response, pasted also below: https://grok.com/share/c2hhcmQtMg%3D%3D_2714a428-1eec-481b-a972-2ab7d35256a9
Understanding Hive/HBD Payouts: Does the 50/50 Split Cause Sell Pressure?
Hive's reward system can be confusing, especially when it comes to the 50% HIVE / 50% HBD payout option. Many wonder if this creates automatic sell pressure on HIVE by converting tokens. Let’s break it down and clarify how it works.
How Hive Rewards Work
Hive’s blockchain allocates inflationary tokens to a reward pool for content creators and curators. Rewards are calculated in Hive Token Units (HTU) (~$0.003 per HTU, adjusted by HIVE’s price). After 7 days, authors receive their share with these options:
Does the 50/50 Split Involve Selling HIVE?
No, there’s no automatic selling or conversion of HIVE to HBD. Here’s how it works:
Example Payout (50/50 Split)
For a 100 HTU (~$0.30 USD) author reward:
Does This Create Sell Pressure?
Conclusion
The 50/50 HIVE/HBD payout doesn’t involve selling HIVE—it’s a direct mint from the reward pool. While user behavior (selling HIVE manually) could add pressure, it’s not automatic. For deeper dives, check Hive’s reward docs or track HBD’s backing on hive.supply.

Posted on October 27, 2025. Data based on current HIVE price (~$0.136 USD).
This is erroneous.
99% is the best you can do, if you use reward app.
This is just wrong.
Never has 100% hbd been an option.
I've never used reward app, so maybe you can get it from them, but I doubt it.
The error rate seems to jump off the chart from there.
The math in the first thing it says is wrong.
100htu equates to ~100hbd, not .3, I'm not sure why the differentiation exists, just that it does.
It may have to do with converting rshares from vshares and then to hbd.
In the context of taking the 50/50 and buying hive to power up, that is all fine and good, gives buy pressure and all, but will lose money when the market turns.
However, if you powerup 100%, you don't have to worry about catching the bottom.
Just keep posting and let the power flow.
Maybe the 'its my money and I need it now crowd' won't care either way, but long term holders looking to maximize returns will want to do this for the tiny fraction of an amount of difference that it makes in the grand scheme of things.
Thanks for the reply! Yeah for sure, Grok needs a lot of corrections, will feed these back to it! And yeah main thing is that HBD is printed, so no sell pressure built in but definitely can miss out on price gains!
