HELLO to all Splinterlands readers of my humble blog.👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 Welcome to yet another week of the "new" iteration of the Splinterlands Weekly Challenges 😜. The "old" Battle Challenges are now a thing of the past (at least for now?) and they have been replaced with the "Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Explore and Expand Splinterlands Lore".

For any old Hivers/Splinterland players who've just come back and are confused, fret not! Even with the name and format tweaks, right at it's core, battles are still the foundation of these posts.

In this week's edition of my Explore and Expand Splinterlands Lore, I will do something drastically different this week. I will become a storyteller for a day based on one of my favourite, and most used cards in the game!

No matter! I present to you the card — Quora Towershead.

So without further ado, let me introduce that card to you! 🎉

The family Towershead is a simple, mountain-dwelling clan from the upper Seed Mountains of Anumun. While the family has a long and rich history of involvement in the development of Lyveria and the Maglarian Reformation, sunset has fallen on their line. Quora's parents, Kurion and Hija, have never had a son, and they have grown old. Although they continue to try, it seems that destiny does not wish for a male heir to carry on their family name. Quora will one day be the last of her clan. Although the name of Towershead will vanish, it will be up to only her to pass on the warriors' blood that flows in her veins. At 24, she is not eager to go find a husband, but because of her ferocity in battle, her father Kurion has presented a plan in which she has found favor.

Quora Towershead is an Epic card released during the Gladius expansion. At LEVEL 1, it has 2 ⚔️MELEE ATTACK⚔️ & 2 🔮MAGIC ATTACK🔮, 1 🏃🏻SPEED🏃🏻, with 3 🛡️ARMOR🛡️ and 8 ❤️HEALTH❤️. It has the HEAL & BLOODLUST ability. It's summoning cost is 10 🧪MANA🧪.

As a unit itself, Quora Towershead might look lacklustre. It has a very high casting cost and comes with middling speed but she has a significant amount of health. A player could probably find better stats for a similar casting cost card elsewhere.

However, what is often overlooked is it's HEAL and BLOODLUST ability! These 2 abilities combined would elevate Quora Towershead to a level which I would consider to be on par with, or even better than some Legendary units. It can almost certainly be slotted into any team that wants just inflict significant hits on the front, and yet be able to take the damange in return. Taking this into consideration, it suddenly looks like a monster instead!

This could make all the difference if the battle comes down to the wire where the slightest advantage is the fine line between victory or defeat! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 This is definitely what I'd consider game changing! 😱😱😱

"Quora’s Trial: Blood, Honor, and the Gladiator’s Path"

The ship’s deck swayed beneath Quora Towershead’s feet as she stood at the bow, her fingers gripping the cold wood of the railing. The journey from Anumun had been long, but now, as the island of Praetoria emerged from the mist, her heart pounded with something she refused to call fear. Excitement, perhaps. Anticipation. Whatever it was, it burned in her veins as fiercely as the warriors' blood her father always spoke of.

When the ship docked, the sight before her stole her breath. Mount Mox towered over the landscape, its peak shrouded in swirling clouds. The arena grounds, sprawling at its base, shimmered with an otherworldly glow. Thousands of warriors had come before her, legends and myths forged in battle beneath that sacred mountain. Now, it was her turn.

The Gladiator’s Camp was not as she expected. There were no grand halls, no lavish feast tables. Instead, there were barracks, training yards, and rings of fire where warriors tested their mettle against one another. The air was thick with the scent of sweat and steel. She would have no home here—only battle.

The first night, Quora was thrown into a trial. No pleasantries, no introductions. A duel against a veteran Gladiator named Valtos the Red, a towering brute covered in scars, his eyes filled with disdain at the sight of her.

“They send me a girl as a challenge?” he scoffed. The other Gladiators laughed.

Quora did not speak. Words would not change his mind. Only steel would.

The signal was given, and Valtos lunged. He was fast—faster than a man his size had any right to be. But Quora had spent her life fighting against the mountain winds, training in the harshest of conditions. She dodged, twisting at the last moment, her twin blades flashing in the torchlight. The first cut was shallow, a warning across his arm. He hesitated. She did not.

By the time Valtos hit the ground, gasping for breath, blood dripping from a cut just above his eye, the laughter had died. The Gladiators watched in stunned silence. Quora turned, wiped her blade clean, and walked away.

The next morning, her name spread like wildfire. She was no longer just a girl from the mountains. She was Quora Towershead, the warrior who had bested Valtos the Red.

For the first time in her life, she did not feel afraid. Her legend had begun.

I definitely can appreciate Quora Towershead and how it changes the dynamics of usual gameplay. This is one of those cards which can be turned into a huge advantage if surrounded with the proper team. The role it brings to the battlefield will give a player the edge in squeezing out every tiny advantage to get the win. 👍🏻
