Hello to any of my readers and "Dear (weekly) Diary" 😜

Welcome to another week of the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge in which I try my best to find something spectacular that has happened in the past week. Just as in the previous week, the changes to ranked battles have been a boon in being able to showcase the best matches around where Davids beat Goliaths! In fact, I have some battles that I would like to showcase again! 😁

But first, a quick look at what happened this week in the world of crypto.

This week, we hit a new milestone! BTC has officially hit a new ALL TIME HIGH! After 2 whole years of a bear market, we have finally seen the rewards of our perseverance. Now that BTC has broken past the $70k barrier (albeit having retreated slightly since then), what does the future hold? There has already been some calls placed for 200k BTC. Will we be able to hit that mark? Once again, who knows? 😁

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 120th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊

No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

This week's Social Media Challenge is all about sharing our remarkable Splinterlands moments. I'd have shared my daily and weekly activities in the past, BUT, usually, nothing really special really happens in my daily Splinterlands daily grind, so let's hope this is more interesting for reading?... let's get down to it! 🤣

We are into the second week of the change in League Level limits in battles. No longer are "low level" players protected by their league limits. This often leads to some very lopsided battles. I had been content with a bronze level deck for the most part of the past year, and this sudden change has been quite a sobering experience to say the least.

Nonetheless, upsets can still happen and I have left some very high level (think completely maxed out Champion League decks) opponents embarrassed. 😉

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

⚔️🛡️My Battle Showcase🛡️⚔️

Let me present a few battles I fought recently in which I managed, against all odds, to win these players who out levelled me on an order of magnitude that I couldn't imagine. Victory or defeat would lie in the small details. 😱

This was one completely unexpected win. The opponent was using a completely maxed out deck with his level 8 Summoner, General Sloan. I think the turning point was when my Drybone Barbarian got enraged and managed to dodge what would have been 2 killing blows, following which, he managed to deal a lethal killing blow to his Uriel the Purifier before it had the chance to heal up again. This put all his ranged units at the mercy of my team and I tore them apart. 😈

This match pitched me against a maxed out Legendary Summoner, Astral Entity, with it's maxed out legendary team too! I was expecting the worst and upon the start of the battle, it certainly seemed so. My Quora Townshead was poisoned with the first hit and the BLAST ruleset kept all my units dangerously close to dying for the entire match!

It was all thanks to the healing powers of my team that everyone was barely kept alive throughout. The tides turned when Quora managed to score kill after kill which helped in keeping her alive by the skin of her teeth. Eventually, I managed to wear the opponent's team down to deal an upset that will be commemorated through the ages! What an epic battle indeed!

💭🧐💭Ending Thoughts💭🧐💭

I definitely can appreciate how utilising the most of your deck's strengths can lead to unexpected outcomes. This is one of those situations in which Davids can beat Goliaths if surrounded with the proper team. The role every single carefully selected unit brings to the battlefield will give a player the edge in squeezing out every tiny advantage to get the win. 👍🏻

For any players who feel daunted with the new battle level changes, I hope this article has given you some insight into the potential of every single card regardless of it's level. 😉
