I have been intentionally tracking a few relative values in a sheet for the past 2 years to try and gain some perception of the changing values of our currencies and assets. I should be doing this more, but I know there is an easier way, but long hand once or twice a month I will update the sheet and see how much values have changed since the last update, and the past year. Over the past decade as a Silver bug I have realized Bitcoin has features that make it ideal. Hive is also the currency of our Hive-ecosystem, and HBD is the asset peg, but BTC is still the real reserve here. Hive is great because it is traded against BTC. When BTC goes up, Hive seems to goes up, then down as it sells off. HBD is traded against HIVE, but when BTC goes up, HBD (relatively) must go down. If the 'Dollar' of Hive the HBD is good for, goes up in value (USD worth more) then BTC value is 'going down' in this motion. When BTC goes up, Hive goes up, but HBD goes down in value, because the 'Dollar worth of Hive' the HBD is good for decreases in value. Its like a teeter totter. HBD is not USD, its 'a dollar' worth of Hive, whatever that amount is. And I am happy to see HBD is at manageable levels. If Hive drops to 0.07 I will happily acquire 14,285.714 HIVE.*
