I love snowfall myself, but we have to travel 12 hours to see it and then stay there for a few days before we can see it.

Why not just go when you know it's there? Why would you need to stay there for a few days to see it? Or did you mean, it's not very "always snowing", and therefore you need to be lucky for it to snow, kind of thing?
