They are to be seen at the end of every year, but these colorful and noisy lads usually appeared before and after New Year, not at Christmas... oh well, almost the same thing. This tradition has its origins in pagan pre-Christian times. The youngsters dress colorful and scary, and they go through the streets and to every house if welcomed. They sing loud and shout to make as much noise as possible to scare away the 'bad spirits'...
