Trip To The Pumpkin Patch

The other day, we went for a little trip out to a Pumpkin Patch that goes on annually around Halloween in one of the villages in our country. We went to it last year, but this year we were able to bring the baby with us.

When you come into the car park - which is a large field - you enter this area, which has a coffee stand and a few stalls selling Halloween-related stuff.

The place is a working farm, that operates as the pumpkin patch when they are harvested.

The coffee shop was the first stop, and we picked up some drinks and freshly made buns and stuff to set us up for a bit of a hike.

It's not necessarily a long walk, but it was nice to sit down and chat with some friends who also came along for the trip.

Here's the entrance to "The Spooky Trail" as you can kind of see in this picture, it was pretty busy that day, and while it was raining on our way out, it was dry when we started the walk.

From here, you can see some of the exhibits in the background, and I thought this was kind of cool. The witch on some string.

I thought this was pretty cool, it's kind of a fairy village thing, and the baby seemed to enjoy looking around at it. Although, he was more interested in looking at us, and the other people walking around.

Here's my partner and the baby sitting on a hay couch, along with a few scarecrows that didn't seem to phase him at all.

I decided to jump in on this picture, and it's actually good that it shows the view from this location. It's pretty scenic, and even just for the fresh air and a stroll, it's well worth heading out to.

My partner told me it was wet prior to me sitting down, but it didn't really register until I did and got a bit soaked... Hay bails and water don't make a very good seat.

There was some music playing, and as we got closer we realised it was 'the band of bones' who were giving a bit of a live performance for the passers-by's.

As we were walking I noticed there were a good few varieties of mushrooms around, which really interested me. I continued to inspect the grass after seeing them, to the point of separating from the party... I was swiftly dragged back to everyone by my partner.

I managed to get this snap of the Berserker mushroom. I like these ones, but I think they have to go through a particular process if you want to eat them. Don't quote me on that, because I don't really know much about many types of mushrooms.

As we came to an end, we saw all of these pumpkins decorating the area, and you are able to pick one you like and take it to the shop to purchase it.

Here's a wall of pumpkins, and again, you can choose anyone you like and purchase it. We decided to take a picture together in front of the wall, rather than taking some of them off the shelves.

Most people decided to leave this display undisturbed because everyone most likely figured that it made for a good photo opportunity as it was full.

I had a few more pictures, which failed to upload, but I think these ones were good choices to tell the story and show the journey of our trip out here.

These kinds of places are really cool, and help to get in the spirit of the particular season it's celebrating. This place does a Christmas-themed walk too, which will be really nice to go out to as well.

It's free to enter, so is accessible to anyone really, so long as you have transport to get into the middle of nowhere.

Man, you and your family look adorable. I like how all of you decided to go for this adventure. It's a wholesome experience and from the pictures I'm seeing, it's quite obvious you all had so much fun. Hehe.

As for the little one, he's a Champ. Haha. Those scarecrows are the ones that has to be scared for their dear life 😂.

Well Done 👍. Happy Sunday, Bro.

He's such a cool little dude and has been a little star. He's teething now, so he has been very cranky over the last couple of weeks, but it's nice that he can get out and enjoy himself on a day like this.
