Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! - Maneuvers
It's time again for a Battle Mage Secret Post where Splinterlands players showcase their strategies based on the Ruleset.
You can use the Ruleset to your advantage or disadvantage your opponent by countering their strategy.
In the battle I will showcase, I used it to counter my opponent and take advantage because you can predict the units they will use.
Battle Ruleset
Maneuvers - In this ruleset, units with melee attack gain the Reach ability. |

Battle Rules
- Rulesets: Maneuvers, Ferocity, and Healed Out
- Mana Cap: 33
- Active elements: Fire, Water, Earth, and Dragon
My Team
Summoner: Kelya Frendul, Max Level I used this summoner because it includes the units I want to use, and its +1 speed buff allows my units to attack first if they have higher speed. Additionally, the +1 shield provides good defense. |
|
Tank: Demon Shark, Max Level I chose this tank because of its strong attack and high shield, which protects against powerful melee attackers the opponent might use, especially with the Maneuvers ruleset. Its Retaliate ability is useful, and the Enrage ability boosts its power when damaged. |
|
2nd Position: Hardy Stone Fish, Max Level I used this in the second position due to its low mana consumption, allowing me to use more powerful units. Despite its low mana cost, it has 2 melee attack and can hold off attacks with 3 shield and 3 health. |
|
3rd Position: Captain Fellblade, Level 3 I chose this unit for its dual melee and magic attack. Although its attack is weak, it consistently damages the opponent each round and provides extra health to allies. |
|
4th Position: Deep Lurker, Max Level This unit is a favorite because of its speed, targeting the opponent's lowest health unit, usually a healer or buff card. Its poison ability prevents healing, and the Demoralize ability reduces the damage power of the opponent's melee attackers. |
|
5th Position: Uraeus, Max Level I used this unit for its sneak attack, targeting the opponent's support units in the back. Its poison ability increases the chance of gradually defeating the opponent. |
|
6th Position: Pelacor Bandit, Max Level I anticipated the opponent would also use sneak attacks, so I placed a unit with sneak attack and high speed in the last position. Its flying ability increases the chance of dodging attacks unless the opponent uses the same unit at the same level. |

The Battle
Round 1
Neither team lost any units, but the opponent's linebacker was weakened by my two sneak attackers.
Round 2
The opponent's Pelacor Bandit was defeated, and their armor repair unit, Swamp Spitter, and healer, Merdaali Guardian, were poisoned. My units remained intact, but my tank's health was reduced to 3.
Round 3
My tank was defeated, and the opponent's tank fell too. Their back healer, Angelic Mandarin, was poisoned, and their Coastal Sentry, with a double strike, was left with only 2 health.
Round 4
My faster units attacked first, taking down the remaining opponent's units one by one.
Battle Conclusion
My strategy of focusing on attacking the opponent's backline and using poison was effective. Three of the opponent's units were support units with repair, heal, and triage abilities. Although the ruleset was Maneuvers, I chose to defend myself anticipating the opponent would use Coastal Sentry with double strike. The Retaliate ability of my tank quickly reduced the opponent's Coastal Sentry health, striking back twice with 6 melee attack power.

Bad news: Saying see you later to Hive! 👋
We didn't get the needed support to continue cXc.world on Hive, as our DHF proposal lacked votes, but [Good News Everyone] cXc.world will add a Markdown copy button, allowing you to easily share your music + music you find on Hive.
For now, we're on WAX, with tools you can use to mint your own Music/Media NFT collection.
