Metal Weekend continues! Guns N Roses, Metallica, Quiet Riot, and a bonus Simpsons based song!

Metal Weekend is here again, so I decided bring in some of the greats of heavy metal. And as a bonus there's a song at the end based off of the Simpsons! Hang on, it's going to be fun!

First up we have a staple of rock, Guns N Roses. They formed their band is Los Angeles in 1986, and the rest is history. Drugs, booze, egos, and ending in disaster because they just couldn't get along... But here's a great tune: Night Train

Next up, bringing in a band synonymous with heavy metal, Metallica. These guys also come from Los Angeles forming in the early 1980's. They have been producing music ever since and have had a relatively stable lineup. Just an interesting factoid, these guys led the charge to stop Napster from allowing people to download their music for free. Even the rich and famous want to get paid it seems. And last up another 80's metal band also from Los Angeles. These guys have had lineup changes galore over the years. They even fired their front man Kevin DuBrow for excessive drug use at one point. He later rejoined the band but died tragically in 2007 from mixing cocaine, alcohol, and some other goodies. But they had a few great songs, I've always liked this one in particular. Metal Health

I did promise a Simpsons based song, so here we go!

If you are a Simpsons fan this is definitely the thrash heavy metal sound for you. Okilly Dokilly took their inspiration from Ned Flanders, they dress like Ned, have a mustache like Ned, and their lyrics are based off of Ned's darker side. Their stage names all end with the last name Ned as well. They started the band as a joke in 2015 just hoping to get Matt Groening's autograph even if came in the form of a cease and desist letter. Apparently they called it quits last October, but I thought this one is hilarious!

I hadn't either, but they included them in the end of a Simpsons episode recently. Bizarre choice using Ned Flanders, but it's halarious!

Head-banging music? I heard one of those songs of Guns and Roses (I forgot the title of the song) but I am not really into that kind of music. A friend let me listen to it. I am a fan of Rhythm and Blues as what other ladies like to listen to. 🤗

It's not everyone's cup of tea, I like R&B music too. Most of these bands were around in the 1980's except the last one which are just weird and funny. Thanks for taking the time to look it over though!

Great bands, Guns N Roses played Glastonbury and then were playing in Scotland last week.

Okilly Dokilly I had never heard of or seen before, but that was hilarious you are right!
