Silver Token from New York New York Las Vegas/ Re-blog lottery
Today I thought I might share another one of my fun Silver Striker's casino tokens from Las Vegas, Nevada. Just in case you aren't familiar with these silver gaming tokens they can be won by playing Silver Striker slot machines and if you're lucky it will payout either a bronze or silver collector's token. Now let me be the first to say that I have rarely had very much luck with slot machines over the course of my life. There is a reason that they're called the one armed bandits, because they are programmed to take in more than they payout. That's how they make the money to pay for hotel casinos costing hundreds of millions of dollars US. In short, the house always wins!
But these silver collector's token are really fun to collect. I have won a few on slot machines over the years, but the grand majority I have purchased at pawn shops usually off of the Las Vegas strip. They usually have a bunch of them from different casinos up and down the strip to choose from to add to your collection. That's where I picked this one up, along with a lot of the others I own.
Over the years I have been to Las Vegas many times, mostly for work related conventions. I have gone several times with the family as well and have stayed at New York New York Hotel and Casino before and it's a fun place. They have their own roller coaster right at the hotel along with a video game arcade for the kids, making it a lot more family friendly. They usually have great shows and just about any kind of dining experience you could ever imagine. However I'm not a big gambler so I usually avoid the casinos, plus as a non smoker they tend to be smokier than I prefer... but anyway...
Now back to the token, these things are always really cool!

These silver tokens are really fun to collect, once you start you probably won't stop. But they are 99.9% silver which makes them a fun way to invest in precious metals. With all the uncertainty in the world right now precious metal prices are climbing quickly along with oil. Hopefully we won't see a region wide war in the middle east but it's starting to become a very real possibility. Wouldn't it be nice if we all just could get along?

The ones I've found are usually off of the strip and they're usually older ones. I've found that the pawn shops on the strip tend to be more expensive

They're commemorative, most casinos have a Silver Strikers section and have their own silver tokens. I find it's cheaper to buy them than to gamble to win them!
