Spoon in The Pocket
The high school days were full of fun, and the amazing thing is that my dad normally calculates my feeding and running expenses (i.e allowance) based on the number of weeks in a semester.
The semester is always about 4-5 months, which is approximately 16-20 weeks. So my dad would do his arithmetic and always come up with an amount for me to spend every day for that 16-20 weeks. This simply means I have a daily spending limit, and any attempt to spend more than my daily limit will have a direct effect on the amount I should spend for a particular day.
At the beginning of every semester, most students and I always live like kings and queens. We spend big, go shopping, eat whatever we want, and engage in a series of activities that will make us spend money, and so on.
When half of the semester is gone, our spending limit would have diminished drastically, and at that point in time, we cease to eat what we desire but eat whatever comes our way. During this period, we consume lots of cassava flakes, even with or without sugar, so as to minimize our spending to the fullest.
Towards the end of the semester, 85% of students in the college are dead broke while a few of them seem to have food stuff to fall back on. For those who were broke and have no food stuff, they tend to introduce the method of carrying a spoon in their pocket.
The idea of carrying a spoon in our pockets became very popular when the semester is almost over and most students are super broke, out of food stuff, and have little or no food to eat.
So we keep walking around to see if any student is cooking or eating. When we finally find someone eating, we say hi, give a compliment on the food, and then ask politely if we can join them to eat. If they do not decline, they will invite us to join them. We don't really have to run around to get a spoon because the spoon is always readily available in our pockets. After eating, we clean the spoon and put it back in our pockets.

You are welcome
Lol experienced this in high school when I moved to a public school. Guys were literally saving their lunch money just to play PlayStation after school while they roam around with spoons eating from place to place during break.
Hahaha funny guys, thanks for stopping by.

Yeah, bro, there are cases you feel like catching Cruise or wanna step on someone's toes, you take one or two spoons from someone's food without permission and runaway.

This is really funny, going around with a spoon. Looking for events in the neighbourhood was our trick to surviving then, we alert other students when we find and storm the event on the day. It's always fun, I can clearly relate to this.

The end season where everywhere is totally dry is not always crazy😅. The funny thing is that, it happens during exam period and by that time, you'll be begging for the exam season to end on time
Hahahaha funny bro, thanks for stopping by
Wow!this story brought back memories of when I was school there was this particular guy in my hostel that always goes around with spoon in his pocket hoping to get to where there's food and just start eating 🤣😅
Sure sis, that was how we roll then.
Good old days.
Some do not even wait to be called, they just rush the food like russians, lol.
Who knows if students still do that these days.

Hahahaha.... God punish poverty. Searching for those who were eating was a hobby if I may say, for those who were broke?
