That's right... We have reached the Midway point (very good movie by the way). And I know many of you might be having a hard time looking at how crypto is at the moment, including the Hive situation. But, the way I see these times, accounting for how many times in the past I have already seen this, been in it, and come out of it, I would say, this is darn exciting.
Why? Well, in the past, all these transitions involved either me being the only one, alone, or being completely scammed by those in control, when I didn't yet have the skills to understand. Today? A different story... and I am not saying I can't be scammed, there will always be a chance... but it will be harder than before. And this is normal because of how and what we learn around this journey.
The reason I find this exciting is that we are testing a limit that I could never test before, along with more people... because everyone would just disappear. But the difference is that now there are more people with skills that are not just scammers. There are REAL people! And that matters a lot for how the crypto will evolve.
Don't get me wrong, I understand that with prices like this, it is very hard to do anything for Hive. But this is why I find it so exciting, because with the new AI thing, with the decentralisation of our community and the fact that people have different values across the globe, there will be adjustments to how value was initially distributed. And this is the key element I could never really live in the past of my crypto experience, because I either blew it up, or was blown away by someone.
I keep the same motto, learn, have fun, and then teach the next one if you can. You teaching the next one is probably the most important part of your work and value, especially on Hive. The more others learn how to live within these communities that don't just live for the pump/dump thing (because that's 95% of all existed cryptos, if not more, unfortunately), the more the Hive community will benefit from the long term goal.
I am here and will be here, no matter what happens to Hive. That's my legacy. And next year it will be a decade to celebrate. Hopefully, in a @hivefest wherever that will be.
🧐 Some ATX Updates 😏
I haven't been doing much on this side, because as I have always demonstrated, I did not create this to win money, it was merely as a tool to help me control what I can say to you as a user. Because if it were something from someone else, who eventually decides to leave and abandon things, I would have to adapt things on my side, and that was not going to please me much. Hence, ATX was born.
Also, I have learned lots while exercising through it, and even today, I learn a thing or two.
Having that said, I have some materials I still need to adapt about pools. These will be edited with my NEW preferred ones I found and have been curating. Those are (without any order of preference and because I chose two in order to have backups in the content I write into the future):
And, did you notice why I have added the part where you see which node I have selected for the data that gets fetched from those front ends? Yep, that was on purpose... why is this so important to me (and it should also be to you)?
Because of decentralisation! I run my own nodes, and I want to depend on no one... and that's how it should always be! Remember, people in Venezuela were being blocked from accessing X? And now it had to be a tragedy for them to do some "probably" shady business behind the scenes to allow X to be used now, in order to raise awareness and help the citizens communicate with each other on the media to find their dear ones?
It's all about money! Otherwise, they (X) would not have been blocked in the first place.
So, I would also like to thank these two gentlemen for their appreciated digestion of my feedback and moulding their own projects with some of my input. Giving you 1% beneficiary just as a vocal gesture of recognising the work you do.
And PEOPLE! Recall to always provide feedback when you see things that can be improved. Constructively and with an objective that will raise value not just for you (because you like it) but also for the rest of the community. If we all do this, then everything around us rises in value and reason to exist.
Two last things on the ATX thing before I change topics. A friendly reminder that the distribution happening on the SWAP.HIVE:ATX pool, will have an injection of 5 Million ATX as planned around the end of August, when the 4th year of this distribution starts.

Este grande bacano @shiftrox have done a new game announced here, called the Hive Grouve.
I am obviously playing it and providing feedback. And I think this one deserves a bit of sharing and showing off, because I think it has great potential for "viralizing" the theme... which in my view is of meeting new people on Hive, some of them not necessarily people you chat with every day, but it can also go that way.

Scrobble Games!
I know, I know... not really the section of a game for the type of app, but they are effectively games. Some of which I suck at... including this one that the other day I did give it a try...
This particular one, you need to have done at least 1000 scrobbles in order to play it... only a few of us have reached it. There is no monetary cost to achieving this. Well, not in terms of sending fiat or crypto anywhere... but there is time! And this might tell you I have lots of time? right? NOP... 🤦♂️🤣 This is just "organisation"... and not having time for many other things.
I am not going to tag acid on purpose 😉 (this is mostly to help his project that I enjoy, not to get his attention). But I am going to ask @saydie if he/she listens to music while playing Splinterlands? I do a lot of stuff at the same time (and probably that's why I fail to finish some), but it's music that really helps keep the momentum. Also a form of relaxation... obviously.
Anyway, try to install the scrobble extension and if you want, share with your audience what you listen to, see and sometimes play! If you have issues, happy to help.

And please be aware that I found this one only this last week, and I am still exploring.
But so far, I have been enjoying it, and this one is not some 30-second game kind of thing, so you do really need to spend time appreciating it in order to have a feel for what it entails. And I want to learn all these ideas that everyone has in order to learn and provide my feedback.
I might have a more informed opinion next month, but I still decided to provide a couple of points here to @affliction.
First, the UI is looking really good. The theme of "Syndicate" really applies. It's slick and has been working flawlessly so far. The Guide helped lots, and I already mentioned to you that I think it should even be active for a longer period of time, always with the option to skip it if at some point the player picks it up.
I have enjoyed the arena mode, and would even add more quick "strategy" decisions during the battles, because that's the kind of thing that, in my opinion, keeps players trying to "get it".
Also like the collectible part of it, where you can't just buy all items and be the best... you will have to work out in order to be the best. I have some ideas for this part... unsure if you thought about buffs based on reputational "strategy" where people can get collectibles based on their type of attacks and sort of things... making someone strategy different depending on what proficiency they want to go for (kind of thing).
I will keep playing for a few more days before I get back to you with more. Especially when you deploy the tokens. Thanks for pinging me on this.
I can't obviously do EVERYTHING or provide feedback to everyone at the same time, and I am sure I am missing people on every post. But that's what I can do. I will do what I can. It will not change who I am...

Today, the game of Portugal 0 - 0 Colombia was super mega interesting. I wish I could have been there. If anyone here in the US has watched the game live, please give me a shout! Just want to FOMO you even more... Because I know when they are good, it's a very awesome spectacle to watch.
#F1 was the same thing, with all the very tinny track, things in Austria get very interesting always. But I am not yet sure if I am going to watch at 1 AM... depends on how tired I am going to be in a few hours.
This weekend was full of "can't go anywhere", so I did some work behind the scenes, spent some time with the kids, and enjoyed Mother Nature!

Yeah, will be fixed... I have already mentioned to @starkerz that this needs a button to "ack all notifications" too, and I am pretty sure he knows about this. Just that there is so much to do... and priority stuff.
I have to come back to the project for some more work, as I haven't been on it for a good few days. But not forgotten. Just as usual, busy life for me... can't attend to all the stuff.
My next approach to this project now that solved a huge problem on onboarding (aka, no one needs a Hive account to even "speak" on Hive)... I need to work a little more on helping with some of the signals... people are shooting these like crazy without really thinking about them. So, need to put brains into thoughts.
maybe at a 5 or 15 minute time out between the signals to avoid spam from bots or a cost in RC increase 1st signal free 2nd signal 10 RC , 3rd 100 RC etc etc
Yeah, I would love that too, but unfortunately, you can't "cost" what you want in RC...
And when you want something to be used (just look at X for example, that asks for you to review stuff for free, and they don't care about whom does right or wrong), you can't cost it... Otherwise, no one will use it.
For me, the right thing is to publicly curate the ones that don't care about it... making their signals less important. A signal should have everything on it, like a DHF proposal, for example. If it does not have it, then it's less valuable.
That should encourage high-reputation accounts to signal correctly and disincentivise newer accounts to think they can just machine-gun the thing.
Maybe there could be a "signals to curate" box in the app, that could act as a temporal verification method:
Aka, if first curators are correct with their vote (being that downvote or upvote) then later curation in the same direction provides some incentives (EA Credits). Otherwise they loose EA Credits instead.
This would automatically use the normal Hive curation system, and reward "EA Credits" for what makes the majority of the curation outcome.
I have to think more about this... but it looks like something to trial.

At 1 Gbps, yes... but if you bump it to 10Gbps or even the newer 25/40Gbps copper Ethernet ports, it's way faster!
My next switch will HAVE to be a 25Gbps one, minimum... already put that into my mind, because I am sick of not having fast local speeds between the nodes when the volumes can easily do 2 to 3GB/s
the old synology 918+ nas has only 1gbit ports the new Ugreen dxp8800 pro nas has 2 * 10 Gbit ports , runing proxmox on it and will run truenas in a vm , but the copy / backup part is almost done.

You mentioned something about having to fix some H-E node issues you had. I don't remember seeing these as fixed, but from what I can see on this post it should be fixed, right? 😄

Humm... unsure why H-E, cause I haven't had any problems with my HE node for a HUGE while... maybe what I meant was the "hack" problem, and I misled you? or some occasional instability of the nodes, of which I can't do much about... because that's witnessing stuff.
What I had problems with was my public Hive API node. Which I still have problems occasionally, but I found a few hacks, and the new version might look better than this one. The 1.28.6
I have also found a few things performance-wise that would hit someone, on the current version I am on (1.28.3), that might be already sorted on the .6 version.
But this is API full node things... not the normal witness node (which is flawless for as long as I can recall).

I also don't think we can win this year. There are lots of teams that have way better players and play a more aggressive strategy. But keeping the motivation... what matters is good games... seeing the spectacle! And if we win! Golden!

Not too sure if I'll play Risingstar even if it does come back. The "break" from not constantly clicking on the less than user friendly site has been quite a breath of fresh air for me. ATX.
I know how you feel... it really depends on games, but people need to be "more ok" with just playing a game, for fun! And not always to compete or find ways to ROI (given that's how things started on crypto).
To break that mentality will take time... people will always default to "if it's on crypto, then it must be profitable"... Well, I pay FIAT for games on Steam, why can't I pay with crypto instead?
People are people... Enjoy the fresh air! Enjoy life!
Still, Risingstar was a great Hive starting game (and I know you didn't mean anything bad about it), and with the new re'write all those things that were not quite right have the opportunity to become much better, and I am going to enjoy coming back to it to validate and help with what I can. It really is a tough time for Venezuelans, but I believe you’ll get through this difficult period and that everything will work out. Hivegrove is easy to play—it doesn’t take much time to get into, and you basically only spend money if you really want to. The cool thing is that you get to interact with people in a different way and even meet new ones.

Wow, dude, you're really active! So many games to check out, it's incredible that Hive has so many apps. It's such a vast world. I'm amazed.
