Weekend Engagement : Live Again

weekend_engagement

I think this is a very current topic because so many people are afraid to die. I have often pondered whether if I had the chance, would I live my life the way I did, or would I do things differently. Therefore, getting a chance to start over again would give you some more options for sure!

The difficulty for me would be, that all the decisions, failures, and triumphs that have brought me to where I am today, have shaped who I am now. I needed to go through these trials in life to become me.

If I were to go back and avoid some of the difficult times or tragedies, this could be very detrimental to my character and my soul. I think life is about living the whole spectrum of experiences and therefore the highs might not be so high without first going through those lows.

It is desirable to want to go back and experience for longer some of the good times and memories you had. But when we die and our soul leaves this place, will it matter much?

The world here is of a materialistic nature and our souls seem more of a non-materialistic nature. Therefore, could our materialistic experiences matter here when we return from where we came?

If we are reborn, we are then reborn as babies and no longer have any memory of a previous life. This would seem to mean we should embrace new experiences and challenges and this would be my choice too. For if we were to remember all our past lives, we would slowly start to know everything and life would lose its mystery and joy. I also wouldn't want to live my exact life as it was over again, as this would be all predictable and not interesting.

I would live a new life and take a shot at whatever cards would be dealt me this time. If I could influence this a little bit, perhaps I would come back as a mountain climber. I would like to climb the world's highest mountain and see the view. Or even as a skilled sailor so that I could explore the unexplored oceans.

Thanks for reading.

I think every day is like a new life for us for it gives us a new start. Should we continue with the choice that we made yesterday or not? We may have missed a lot of chances but each day can give us better choices.

A mountain climber or a sailor - sounds adventurous :)

That is so true. The joy of waking up every day is like a reset and you have the freedom to make a new path.

Hey man,

Why don't you actually start over? People think that it is really hard to do that.
But guess what, it isn't. At all. My girl, daughter and me did it three times already.
I can tell you it is very exciting!

What did you do to start over?

(Edited)

We have moved to Spain to do voluntary work, then we moved to Hungary for work, and now we live back in Spain again, to enjoy the sun :)

It's really not as hard as you might think.

Who hasn't ever thought "if only i could go back and do x, y or z differently". That's human nature. But as you said being able to do that would change who we are in the here and now and who we will become as time goes on. The good times and the bad times shape us throughout our lives and only serve to help us be the best we can be in whatever we do.

Great article !hivebits

Yeah man, I love your views here. We're all just made up of energy at the end of the day, and what happens to that energy after we move along from this world, no one really knows. All we know is that energy can't just disappear.

Life's a journey, so let's just try and make the best of it.

It is good to plan for the future but it is also important to enjoy the moment now. It is an art of learning how to balance.

Thanks, I agree and search for this balance. Just one more game of Rising Star first. 🙂

Interesting concept, Steve. It is all of our life experiences, both good and bad that make us who we are.

all the decisions, failures, and triumphs that have brought me to where I am today, have shaped who I am now.

Very true, I sometimes wish I had more decision, failure and triumphs in my past, but I lived on auto-pilot for the first half of my life. I can't help but think biggest character building decisions, failures and triumphs are yet to come.

life is about living the whole spectrum of experiences and therefore the highs might not be so high without first going through those lows.

Stability and predictability may be nice and comfortable, but will never really accomplish much. Living uncomfortably allows for greatness to be achieved. Allowing the lows and highs and learning from them results in a life truly worth living.

Thanks for sharing your experience @ironshield. I think you also have a good point. We need to try and live uncomfortably sometimes. !CTP

Planning for the future is a good thing but it shouldn't dictate your life. Thanks for sharing.

I think that's a good choice to make! And sailing the unexplored seas...yeah, I'd love to do that! Climbing some mountains...ah, why not? I think if I'd be a mountain climber, I wouldn't suffer from fear of heights hehe.
I thought about what I heard someone else say, which is the butterfly effect.
I had been thinking that if I'd come back as myself, I'd tell my friend's son not to get on his bicycle on the fatal day of his accident, and my friend, her partner and eldest son wouldn't have to go through the heartache of losing their son/brother, and my daughter wouldn't lose her best friend...(and the rest of us someone we loved dearly). But then you'd have to think about the consequences. Would the same driver then go on and kill someone else? Or maybe a whole family?
It's a difficult choice to make. Either way.
I think coming back as an orca would be my choice if I had one hehe.

Those are heartbreaking things for sure and I would think any parent who goes through such a tragedy would want to undo the tragedy. When we have such tragedies all around us, it does make you wonder what we are doing here. I find it hard to see people suffering and would want to do what I could to relieve that suffering.

I often wonder if the animals also have spirits and if we would also re-incarnate as an animal as part of this experience. The thought of coming back as a fly or spider horrifies me though!

hi Steve, I came across your post in Dreemport this evening. I think I agree with you that my own experiences have also shaped the person that I am today. I wonder how different things might have been if just one little thing had changed... so many times I could have said yes when I said no, I could have turned left instead of right, spoken up when I kept quiet or kept quiet when I spoke up... little beats of the butterfly's wings shaping our destinies forever. It really does give pause for thought 🙏Given that I believe I am right where I should be at the moment, I think I will just have faith that Grace will continue to light my way. Each day that I awake, I feel that I am living a new life and I am filled with gratitude 😍 !ALIVE

Interesting thoughts. No, none of us would like to live the exact live we’ve had again.

It is desirable to want to go back and experience for longer some of the good times and memories you had. But when we die and our soul leaves this place, will it matter much?

Actually, all that we are left with in this world is our memories, good memories are the ultimate high, but, you’re right, in an altered future, perhaps reincarnated, would it matter much.
Lovely post 🤗❤️💕❤️🤗🤗💕💕🤗

I agree, I think that's why we don't need to take life so seriously and try and enjoy it as much as we can.

Thanks for dropping by.

You are right. Living one's life all over again feels like watching the same movie over and over again. At some point it starts to get boring because there is no more suspense, you know how it starts and how it ends and what every character says. If I'm to be reborn, I would love to live the new life in a different way. Find out how it ends up shaping me perhaps into the person I was before or someone else, better than I was before with new friends and acquaintances creating new memories and leaving new marks on the sands of time.

I like the way you think.
Like truly won't be interesting when it's predicted.
All that we are going through is what makes us who we are.
I would choose a new life too if I were asked to choose.

Life gives chance to us (which doesn't happen sadly) perhaps we all would want to get rid of all the harsh circumstances which gave us pain or injured our souls. The things when done with our hands became past but they shouldn't remain as our part.

Well, you want to view everything with birds eye hehe or might be the migratory fishes who wanted to explore the depth and uniqueness of everything.

Thanks to Dreemport for introducing me to such a beautiful soul -explorer.
