From Chaos to Order: Setting Up a System

Today, I spent the whole day working on my website for the new career path I'm pursuing. While I was working on it, I realized that I can't just do things the way I want without a proper plan.

I can't take random actions because if I do, the results will also be random, and I might not remember which strategies worked and which didn't.

So, as I was building the website, I decided to structure my workflow—in other words, I created a system for how I do things.

The first system I set up was for gathering and organizing the products I will affiliate with. What will be my basis? Will I just randomly choose what I like? Of course not. So, I decided to pick a few product niches and start with 10 items from each niche. This way, I can monitor which products are sellable and which are not.

Next, I created a system for how I gather the materials I will use for promotions, from getting the links, adding IDs to the links, and placing them in Google Sheets.

The last and longest system I set up was the flow of my website. What will the flow be like? I can't just post anything randomly, right? I also need to think about how to make the website helpful and enjoyable for users, which is where I spent the most time.

Right now, I'm pleased with how my website looks because I managed to make it appear like a mobile app, with a menu at the bottom when viewed on a mobile phone, which disappears when in desktop mode.

Once my website is done, I plan to hold a contest to promote it, and I'm considering budgeting some Swap.hive as prizes for the contest.

For now, this is how my website looks in both desktop and mobile views. If you'd like to check out what I’ve done, you can visit shopaholler.com and leave your comments or ideas about the website design in this posts comments section. TIA

I can see that you're setting yourself up for long-term success! You have a systematic approach to organizing your workflow, that's impressive. Keep it up 👍

I thought that if I start without a system, it would be easy at first because I’m only posting a few things, but when the time comes that there are many, it will become difficult for me. So, from the beginning, I made sure to organize it.

Totally agree with you on that. Especially that you intend to work on it in the next 4 years.
